She wants to tell campfire stories of all kinds and remind audiences they are alive. She is also the miller 1/2 of the theatrical duo miller & harlow. Join us as four couples in varying degrees of love and anguish navigate one disastrous Halloween party. \n\n\n\nThe ColLab staged reading series reimagines what a “reading” can be. Instead of a static presentation\, we transform the room into an immersive environment that surrounds audiences with the world of the piece while honoring the development of a new script (audience members won’t be required to participate unless they want to.) SUMMARY:Mauzy (May 14th)
DESCRIPTION:Off The Lane’s next ColLab production is “Mauzy” by Derek Davidson: a haunting Appalachian musical folk tale inspired by the Noh drama “Matsukaze”. Set in the misty mountains of 1929\, the play follows a traveling preacher who seeks shelter in a remote cabin inhabited by two enigmatic sisters. As stories are shared and the night unfolds\, reality begins to blur with memory\, myth\, and ghostly longing. Blending bluegrass music\, storytelling\, and the supernatural world\, “Mauzy” explores grief\, desire\, faith\, and the stories we tell to survive. \n\n\n\nThe production is being directed by Rachel Sabo-Hedges\, associate directed by Anna Zheng\, and features a stunning cast including Anna Grace Crawford\, Tara Halpern\, Miciah Wallace\, Michael Kaczkowski\, Jasmine Renee Pierce\, Sarah Elizabeth Mesibov\, and Jason Curtis Rivera. \n\n\n\n(Note: Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic Beverages will be available to purchase – all proceeds will go to future OTL artists and projects) \n\n\n\nIf you are in financial need\, please email sophie.brubaker@offthelane.org for more information about obtaining a discounted ticket.
