Our Work

Support. Develop. Create. Connect.

OTL’s programs meet artists at different points in their creative journeys, but they are designed to work together.

The Mentorship Progam. From student to professional.

Mentorship Program

SUPPORT. The Off The Lane Mentorship Program connects motivated college seniors and young professionals 18+ looking to move to NYC with working creative professionals to enrich, educate, and engage them in their transition into a new, artistic, working community. Over the course of the session, Mentees will meet with their individual Mentors once a week virtually (or in person depending on location/availability) for 8 weeks. The Mentors will cover a wide variety of topics such as housing, transportation, networking, finances and entertainment industry insight, resources, and training.

BOOST. Building occupational objectives and skills together. Let's call it career therapy.
ColLab. An experimental workshop. Innovative ideas for artists andn audiences.

ColLab

CREATE. ColLab: An Experimental Workshop challenges NYC artists to create new, interactive and/or interdisciplinary live performance work to be workshopped and presented in the Off The Lane performance space. The ColLab program also hosts networking events for interdisciplinary artists to connect and brainstorm their collaborations! ColLab offers producing support for projects featuring theatre, dance, music, film, visual art, photography, and more.

We envision creating new, performing arts works that are cross-genre, cross-discipline, and cross-cultural in a way that unifies the arts and gives new voices, partnerships, and ideas a platform that they’ve never had before.

School partnerships. Collaborative workshop experiences. Students at the center.

School Partnerships Program

EVEN MORE SUPPORT. Off The Lane’s School Partnerships Program offers collaborative workshop experiences that put students at the center of the creative process. Rooted in our belief that students learn best through action, these workshops invite young artists to explore, create, and problem-solve in real time. Guided by industry professionals and shaped by Off The Lane’s commitment to collaboration, each session empowers students to trust their instincts, share their voices, and develop their skills through doing—not just observing.
