Off the Lane presents WHAT’S LEFT: an exploration of modern dance. The pop-up evening of dance features original choreography by Stephanie Nielsen and Cooper Grenke, interwoven with text by Katherine Hunter that highlights themes of body horror, body image, and interpersonal relational dynamics.

MEET THE COMPANY
Stephanie Nielsen (Choreographer/Dancer) is a multidisciplinary performer originally from Benicia, California. She began her dance training at age seven, and has since trained in ballet and modern techniques at the University of California, Davis, where she graduated with a B.A. in Theatre and Dance and a minor in Communications in June 2021. Throughout her education at UC Davis, Stephanie also trained as an actor and singer, and has choreographed multiple original works. She is currently based out of New York City. Stephanie joined the Stoopid Dance Company, part of the TICM Dance/Theater Company, in Fall 2020 as one of its original company members. Her most recent project, Funeral for a Dog, was performed at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe. @stephaniekatenielsen
Cooper Grenke (Choreographer)
Katherine Hunter (Writer) is a California native who has resided in New York City since 2018. Her work is based predominantly in creative nonfiction with her first publication appearing in The Sacramento Bee, Sac’s Homeless Population Bears Brunt of Extreme Heat, in 2023. While she hopes to pursue a master’s degree in creative nonfiction next Fall, she has never forgotten her first loves of poetry and playwriting. No matter what style, her work carries themes of community, advocacy, and self-reflection.
Gigi Hausman (Dancer) (she/her) is thrilled to be a part of What’s Left! She was most recently seen traveling the world as Anybodys in the International Tour of West Side Story. Other credits include Assistant Choreographer/Dance Captain/Swing in the world premiere of His Story the Musical, Ensemble/US Lise in An American in Paris (Shannon Lewis), and various concert dance projects at Martha Graham, The Tank, and Cite International des Arts in Paris. In her spare time, she likes to read, hang out with her friends, and take aimless walks around the city. @gigihaus
Brooke McDaniel (Dancer) is a dancer and interdisciplinary artist hailing from Los Angeles, CA. The depth of her arts training is in concert dance, mainly ballet and modern, with an emphasis on Horton technique, Cunningham technique, and Taylor style.
She holds a degree in graphic design from UC Davis, a post-bac certificate in dance from the Ailey School, and is a swing dance faculty member at Steps on Broadway.
Paige Majewski (Dancer) is a dancer, choreographer, singer, and actress based in eastern Pennsylvania who recently graduated with B.A.s in Theatre and Film Studies from Muhlenberg College. There she debuted five original works of choreography and performed in over ten theatre or dance productions. She has performed abroad in both Italy and Scotland and hopes to continue exploring the art scenes abroad. Her most recent accomplishment is the performance of her work at the Koresh Artist Showcase in Philadelphia, PA. Her upcoming appearances include the PMT House of Dance Fall Dance Series and Dixon Place’s annual 30-30-30 concert. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Paige enjoys spending time in nature, watching films, and being in the company of loved ones. She is excited to one day relocate to New York City and continue working towards artistic endeavors.
